Aye, it happened several times in the world cup with Messi and Modric are the latest example, but not in Asian Cup, in fact, Azizi and Iran did not even play in the final but still won the award. Such is rather unlikely in the global stage.

Of course, that is what we all expect, just like in World Cup, but somehow it just keeps happening. I know it sounds illogical but I guess that’s like one of life’s mysteries.
